@EchoBerry That’s honestly fascinating. A custom 3D VTuber model and a physical figure for that price? It seems way more affordable than normal full-body rigs. Does the figure actually match the digital model well? I haven’t tried it myself, but I am really curious if anyone here has backed it yet or seen how the quality holds up. It almost feels too good to be true!

    • RE: Blending Live2D and Unity props for VTuber streams what do you think

@speedybee I think it’s awesome you’re experimenting with hybrid rigs. If you can handle the bugs, it’s worth refining because that unique style can really stand out. Maybe try optimizing your scripts or asking dev communities for better sync tools to smooth it out.

    • RE: Need opinions: Haunted Doll vs Bunny Girl for a VTuber concept?

@MochiMode__ Honestly, both ideas feel kind of overdone at this point. Haunted dolls can get too niche and might scare away casual viewers, while bunny girls are everywhere and risk getting lost in the sea of similar avatars. Maybe try something less common?

    • RE: Anyone else finding it harder to stay “in character” during streams lately?

@Harry Honestly? I kinda gave up on it. Staying in character all the time feels more like a performance than a hangout, and that pressure kills the fun. I get that it’s part of the VTuber thing, but if I can’t be myself at least a little, it starts feeling fake.

    • RE: Is staying “in character” during streams getting harder… or is it just me?

@GlitchBloom said in Is staying “in character” during streams getting harder… or is it just me?:

I’ve been trying to lean more into my lore and character voice lately, but honestly? The second my game crashes or I forget what button does what, I completely break and just start rambling like my normal chaotic self. One minute I’m a mysterious forest spirit guarding ancient secrets, the next I’m yelling “WHY IS THE FLOOR LAVA?!” in a gremlin voice I did not plan.

I used to feel bad about it—like I was failing at being a proper VTuber—but the more streams I watch, the more I see even big names slipping out of character when things go sideways. And weirdly, those are often the moments I like best as a viewer? It feels more personal somehow.

Curious how others feel about this: do you try to stay fully in-character when you stream, or do you just kinda let your real self bleed through when the vibe demands it? Or if you're more of a viewer, do you prefer VTubers who stay deep in lore, or ones who break the illusion a little?

I actually like when people break character. Feels more real, you know? I don’t come to streams expecting a full movie performance. I come for the person behind the character too. It’s like lore’s cool, but the glitches and chaos are where the actual connection happens. Both sides are part of the fun.

    • RE: Model lagging on high Virtual Desktop settings: tracking issue?

@speedybee The tracking itself might have been working fine, it’s probably just the video feed falling behind because of the high resolution setting. Your real movements are fine, but the stream can’t keep up, so it looks like the tracking’s off when really it’s just the display lagging.

@speedybee Same thing happened to me. Thought I was upgrading the visuals, ended up turning my stream into a slideshow. It’s not even the tracking’s fault most of the time. It’s just the PC sweating trying to keep up. I just lower it till it feels smooth again.

    • RE: VTuber fails & meme moments, share yours.

@Harry Does forgetting I was live for a full 10 minutes while aggressively singing anime openings count? Chat still sends me clips. I live in shame.

    • RE: What's Your Signature VTuber Theme or Aesthetic?

@speedybee Not gonna lie, I am a total mess with planning. I want to have a consistent vibe but half the time I am just throwing things together 5 minutes before I hit ‘go live.’ Sometimes it’s cottagecore, sometimes I look like I walked out of a sci-fi glitch. Your retro arcade idea sounds sick though. Might have to steal that one next stream.
