    Has anyone tried using their VTuber model in both streaming and VR?

      Curious if anyone here uses their model across multiple platforms, like for live streaming and in VRChat or other VR spaces?

      I have been seeing a few creators mention using the same avatar for both, and I’m wondering how that works technically. Are there limitations depending on the platform? And does the model need to be rigged differently for VR vs VTube Studio?

        @Sam Yep, I’ve done it! You can use the same model, but you’ll usually need tweaks. VTube Studio uses 2D rigging (Live2D), while VRChat needs a fully rigged 3D model. If you're using something like a VRM model, it's easier to bridge both worlds, just expect some setup time for each platform.

          @Sam Great question! Yep, some creators do use the same model across platforms, but it depends on the format. VTube Studio uses 2D Live2D models, while VRChat usually needs a 3D (VRM or Unity-based) model. So you'd typically need separate rigs—or a 3D version of your avatar—to make it work in both.

          It’s possible, just takes a bit of extra setup!

            @Sam Great question.

            VTube Studio uses 2D Live2D models, while VRChat needs 3D (usually VRM or Unity-based). So yep, they need different setups. Some creators make both versions of their avatar to use across platforms—it just takes a bit of extra work.

              @Sam Yep, you can use the same model, but usually you will need different versions. VRChat uses Unity with specific rig setups (full-body tracking optional), while VTube Studio prefers simpler VRM formats. Sometimes you will tweak bones/blendshapes separately for each.

                @Sam Yes, some creators do use the same model across platforms, but it depends on the format. For example, VRChat usually needs a VRM or Unity based model with full body rigging, while VTube Studio uses Live2D, which is 2D and only supports face tracking.

                  Yeah, I have seen some people do that. The model usually needs a few tweaks though - like VRChat needs it to be optimized more, and VTube Studio focuses on face tracking. So sometimes it is the same base model, just rigged a bit differently for each platform.

                    @Sam Yeah, I have tried it. You can use the same model, but sometimes you need to make small changes. VRChat usually needs a 3D model (like VRM), and VTube Studio uses 2D (Live2D). So it depends on what type of model you have.

                      @Sam Yep, some creators do use the same model across platforms! You’ll usually need it in different formats, like VRM for VTube Studio and a Unity-compatible format for VRChat. Rigging might need tweaks depending on how detailed the tracking is on each platform.
